This last weekend I made the long drive up to Granite peak Ski resort in Wausau, Wisconsin. The resort was huge, with over 75 runs. Best part of the trip was on Sunday we got 14 inches of fresh power. Fresh snow plus untouched runs equaled some of the best skiing I’ve done in years. Here is a short little video from the go pro. Enjoy.

First day of Missouri Whitewater!
This last weekend, was the first time the St. Francis River has been runnable since the beginning of 2011. Chris and I headed out Saturday morning to catch the run.
When we arrived, it was lower than we hoped and while we thought it would rise throughout the day, it never did. Nevertheless, we didn’t let that stop us from having a great day of Missouri white water.

Saturday night we camped and were able to get another run in on Sunday which had more water than Saturday and the temp was around 70.

We couldn’t ask for anything else. Here is a little video of the day.

The LIST!
Here it is! The list you’ve all been waiting for. The number of days I kayaked last year. I began this last year with the purpose to increase the number of days each year. Therefore, the goal for 2011 is to paddle more than 43 days of whitewater.

Sunday night pool sessions with the Go Pro
Last night we had our weekly pool session at the South County YMCA. I had a great time and was finally able to get my double pump down and go into a bow stall. The freestyle moves are slowly coming along. I also decided to bring the Go Pro and test out its waterproof case in the pool. Enjoy until the next adventure.

First Ski trip for 2011, Sundown Mountain
So this last weekend, I left for the first ski trip on the season. Rocking the new K2’s and the Go Pro Hero cam. Cody picked Tyler and me up after school and we took off for Sundown Mountain ski resort. After a bit of a bender at the Alpine Shop, and some rough traffic, everything was smoothed out once we cracked opened some bottles on the drive. (The driver of course was not drinking, Thanks Cody.)
Needless to say after the long drive and multiple pee stops, I was feeling good when we meet up with Chris and the rest of the group.
Sundown had some nice snow and we took full advantage of it. Both days were cold, but not to bad. 8 hours of skiing does put a toll on the legs, and come Monday, our bodies were sore. We work up Monday to 3 inches of fresh snow, but unfortunately had to make the drive back to St. Louis. We saw over 50 cars/trucks stuck on the side of the road, but made it home safe and sound. Here is a little video I made of the trip while driving home, Chris has some nice rail footage, but I unable to to get it, enjoy until the next adventure.
